Tracking appointments in LeaveWizard

LeaveWizard can be used to track appointments as well as leave and absence.

This means you can use an event type which is not considered as time off. This allows you to use a variety of event types like training or meeting or simply busy time. These will then show your availability to others via the charts in LeaveWizard and will even sync up with your Outlook or Google Calendar.

This article will walk you through the set up process. Let's assume you are adding a new event type as opposed to modifying an existing one which works in a similar way.

Logged in as Administrator, go to Administration -> Event types and allowances.

Click New Event type and this will take you to the below screen.

Give your new type a name, e.g. "Appointments" and a colour to avoid conflicting with your other types.

Change the type of event to either Allowanced leave if you want to restrict how much time people can book or non-allowanced.

If you want to allow booking hours then select Is in Hours. If unselected you could only book half days or full days events.

Tweak any of the other options as necessary - e.g. Visibility.

Then head to the "Other" section to exclude events from this type from restrictions.

Click Submit when you are read. This will add a new event type which is not allowanced, does not require approval and is not included in restrictions. In other words - an appointments type.

You can control who can book this type in the same way you do with other event types.
