The Administrator Dashboard
The Administrator dashboard is similar to the Line Manger dashboard and is designed to provide quick and easy access to all the relevant leave information for the user. But, it also provides extra features to enable administration of the system and provides unrestricted access to all user data.
At the top of the page is the main menu. This band runs the full width of the page and has 4 sections. A branding logo on the left hand side then the Administrator dashboard menu and on the right hand side a notification area and finally the user menu. The main menu structure remains unchanged as you navigate around LeaveWizard.
Branding LogoIf yourself or another administrator in your company has provided us with your company logo then that will be displayed. There is a link in the Details section of the Company settings page. If not, the LeaveWizard logo will be displayed. Clicking on the displayed logo will return you to the Dashboard from wherever you are.
The Administrator dashboard menu has 5 menu items which either take you directly to another page or if a downward triangle is displayed next to the menu item, will display a drop down menu.
The Dashboard menu item will return you to the Dashboard from wherever you are.
The My Leave menu item on the Employees Dashboard menu is replaced by the expanded Leave menu item for Administrators and Line Managers. This menu has a drop down providing 10 menu options to choose in 3 categories Approvals, Requests and Reports.
Approvals - Pending Approvals
The Pending Approvals menu item takes you to the Approvals Manager page where you can approve or manage requests. This is explained in the Approving or Rejecting Leave article.
Requests - My Leave
The My Leave menu item takes you to the My Leave
page which provides status information about your leave requests such as if a request has been approved or rejected.
Requests - Leave & Absence Requests
The Leave & Absence Requests menu item takes you to the Leave & Absence Requests page which provides status information about leave and absence requests for all users.
Requests - Overtime Requests
The Overtime Requests menu item takes you to the Overtime Requests page which provides status information about Overtime requests for all users.
Reports - Leave & AbsenceReports - Remaining Allowances

These 6 menu items will take you to the appropriate reporting pages. See the Report Generation
article for more information. The Bradford Factor menu item will only be available if it has been enabled for your company.
Although the Dashboard has a calendar, sometimes it is useful to see alternative views of your leave, such as your leave for the whole year all at the same time. The Calendars drop down menu allows you to select 4 alternative views which are explained in the Calendars
The Tools drop down menu will vary depending on what has been enabled for your company. You will be able to select the Address Book and optionally Room Booking
The Settings menu item is only available to Administrators. This menu has a drop down providing 11 menu options to choose in three categories Company, Leave and Restrictions.
Company - Organisation And Employees
The Organisation And Employees menu item takes you to the Organisation And Employees
page which allows you to manage the virtual model of your real organisational structure in LeaveWizard.
Company - Groups
The Groups menu item takes you to the Custom User Groups
page which allows you manage these custom groups that associate users with each other.
Company - Company Settings
The Company Settings menu item takes you to the Company Settings
page which allows you to control the essential behavior of the system. A brief overview of the page is provided in our Basic Settings
Leave - Approvers
The Approvers menu item takes you to the Approvers
page which allows you to specify who approves leave and overtime requests for which users.
Leave - Event Types & Allowances
The Event Types & Allowances menu item takes you to the Event Types & Allowances
page which allows you to configure event types (leave and absence types) and manage employees' allowances for the event types that have an associated allowance.
Leave - Work Patterns
The Work Patterns menu item takes you to the Work Patterns
page which allows you to define work patterns used by users in your company.
Leave - Public Holidays
The Public Holidays menu item takes you to the Public Holidays
page which allows you to configure your company Public Holidays settings.

These 4 menu items will take you to the appropriate restrictions pages. See the Restrictions Part 1 article for more information about Leave Restrictions and Restricted Periods. Notification AreaThe notification area has an 'Envelope' icon which is a link to your user messaging inbox. If there are unread items, then a number will appear showing the number of unread items.
If you have pending approvals then this will be notified by an '(x approval)' notification appearing to the right of the messaging inbox 'Envelope' icon. Where x will be the number of pending approvals. Clicking the notification takes you to the Approvals Manager page where you can approve or manage requests. This is explained in the Approving or Rejecting Leave
The user menu is accessed via the 'Head' icon on the far right hand side of the main menu and provides access to user specific setting from a drop down menu. The drop down displays your user name and LeaveWizard status (Administrator) at the top and provides 4 menu options to choose.

The My Settings menu item takes you to the My Settings
page where you can change some user specific preferences such as email notification and your password.
The Help menu item takes you to the LeaveWizard support portal where you can get access to other help articles similar to this.
The Logout menu item logs you out of the web app and returns you to the LeaveWizard web site.
Below the main menu is the Dashboard sub-menu. This band runs the full width of the page. The title of the sub-menu and the available functions will change depending on the LeaveWizard page you are on. The Dashboard sub-menu has 4 items, 3 are always displayed and the other, Approvals(x), will only be displayed when you have pending approvals.
The 'Request...' button allows you to quickly make requests. The drop down menu allows you to select 'Request Leave', 'Request Absence' and optionally 'Request Overtime' if overtime has been enabled for your company.
If you have pending approvals then a 'Approvals (x)' button will also be displayed. Where x will be the number of pending approvals. Clicking the button takes you to the Approvals Manager page where you can approve or manage requests. This is explained in the Approving or Rejecting Leave
The 'Add Employee' button will take you to the add employee
section and will allow you to quickly add new users.
On the far right hand side of the sub menu is a 'Search Employee' field where you can enter search text to find a user with that text in their name. Selecting a user from the drop down list of users which match the entered text will take you to their employee details record.
The Dashboard is split into 5 sections, 4 are always displayed and the other, Pending Approvals, is a notification section which will only be displayed when you have pending approvals.
If there are pending approvals then they will be listed here. Clicking on an entry will take you directly to the details for that request in the Approvals Manager page where you can approve or manage the request. This is explained in the Approving or Rejecting Leave
article. The 'See All Pending Approvals' provides a link to the Approval Manager page.
This section allows you to quickly see what future (unexpired) events you have for the selected month. It has a mini 1 month calendar below which the events are listed along with their current status. The 'See All My Leave' provides a link to the My Leave page.
The My Allowances section on the Employees Dashboard is replaced and expanded by the Allowances section for Administrators and Line Managers. It has two tabs for selecting between 'My Allowance' or 'Team Allowance'.
The My allowance tab shows all your event types that have an associated allowance. Your annual and remaining allowances for the current leave year are displayed.
Typically the leave year is the same as the calendar year and runs from 1st January to 31st December. However, many companies run a different leave year. When the 'My Allowance' tab is selected, the 'Allowance and leave from' text below the allowance display specifies your leave year. Your work pattern is also shown along with who approves your leave. The 'See All Allowances' provides a link to the Event Types and Allowances
The Team Allowance tab shows the annual and remaining allowances for the current leave year for the holiday leave type for all members of your team (work group).
The calendar shows who in the company is on leave. The calendar can show all leave types and can highlight Public Holidays and company specific holidays if they exist.
At the top left is a navigation area allowing you to change the displayed calendar dates. At the top right hand side you can choose between a week or month calendar view.
As a quick way to make a leave request you can double-click on a day on the calendar and a new request will be initiated starting from that day. You can also double click on an existing unexpired event and edit it.
Clicking the 'View Calendar Legend' at the bottom of the calendar will toggle showing the colour legend. The 'See Other Calendar Views' provides a link to the Calendars
Who's On Leave?
The Who's On Leave? section provides a way to display a list of all leave requests for a specified period. From the work group drop down you can select the work group whose users you want to list. By default all work groups will be chosen. You can change which work group is chosen by default from the My Settings menu item in your User Menu. In this way you will always get the same selected work group displayed when you log in. From the 'Period' drop down you can specify the time frame you want to see. By default this will show the current month. The drop down provides some pre-defined time periods or you can select a custom period and enter a specific start and end date.
At the bottom of the page is a page footer with links and information about LeaveWizard.
