Setting up LeaveWizard – Public Holidays
The Public Holidays page allows you to configure the public holidays or other company wide or location wide leave for your organisation.

Public holidays are organised in Calendars. Calendars can be either company wide or location specific.
On the left hand side you will notice a section called Leave Types. This is the list of the leave types suitable for adding public holidays. By default we create one of these but there’s many cases when you may need more than one. To find out more about leave types check the leave types in depth article.
Unless you have opted to import a public holidays template on the Basic Settings page you will start with an empty list. The first thing you need to do is to create one or more calendars. In our example above we have two locations and each location has specific bank holidays therefore we have created two separate calendars and assigned them to the appropriate location. Let’s now say we also have a company wide calendar to indicate the company’s anniversary day so we need to add a new calendar.
Here’s how to do it. Click New Calendar and you will see a form like the below.
Give the calendar a name – e.g. Company Anniversary 2014 and choose that the calendar is for the entire organisation. You may have noticed that on this form you can once again use a pre-defined template to import a standard set of public holidays. In our case we don’t need that as we’re adding a single day so we just click Submit.
Next we want to add our Company Anniversary day to our new calendar so we right click it’s name in the tree and select New. You will see a form just like in the screenshot below.
All we have to do now is select the date of the company's anniversary, give the event a name and click submit, This will add a new event to the Company anniversary calendar which will be valid for everyone in the organisation.
How you manage calendars is entirely up to you. You can choose to create calendars per year which might be a good idea if you have many public holidays to add or you can choose to use a single calendar and add events with dates in multiple years.
Finally when you select a calendar in the tree on the left you will see the list of events in this calendar. In the list you can edit or delete the existing events.

Calendars – Calendars hold a collection of dates that represent public holidays or other set or company events for example Company training days. They are useful for organising public holidays in collections that can be applied to either the entire company or per location.
Public Holiday leave types – these are leave types specifically set up to hold Public holidays or other non-working days that apply to either the entire organisation or a specified location.
