Outside the setup pages LeaveWizard has many more powerful options that can be configured and so the summary page lists a number of the advanced features you can use. We will briefly explain each one and provide a link to a more detailed help article.
Work patterns or shifts allow you to set up repeatable patterns to represent what days and times employees work. A typical work pattern would be a total of seven days with the first 5 being working days (9-5) and the last 2 non-working days and it would normally start on a Monday. With over 20% of the UK employees working part time however it is important to be able to configure flexible shift patterns.
Leave restrictions allow you to set-up rules or limits that ensure you have key people available to meet the needs of your business. For example you may wish to make sure that there is always someone in the office from a key team (for example customer support) or perhaps you need to ensure that one of the two directors is always available.
Restricted periods allow you to configure time periods when leave cannot be booked. Good example for these might be certain times during the year when business activity is at its peak and you require everyone to be working. For example an organisation might require all of their employees to be available over Christmas when there’s usually an increased demand for its services.
Restricting leave type visibility might be useful when you want to restrict what leave employees can book. For example you may have a special leave type of training for certain employees who attend regular courses or college. In this case you would only allow these employees to book the training leave type while the rest of your staff would not see the option at all. .
Leave visibility is a way of restricting who can see what leave. You may want to set up such restriction due to confidentiality or other company reasons or if the employee requests. Good example would be gardening leave or compassionate leave
LeaveWizard also has a simple room booking functionality. If you use meeting rooms and don’t need an expensive sophisticated system to book them you can use the built in feature which is easy to use, synchronized with Outlook and comes integrated with your leave system.
