New LeaveRestriction user groups

We have extended the functionality of Leave Restriction user groups to allow specifying the maximum number of employees that can be on leave at the same time. This provides the same restriction as in workgroups except that in the user group you can create additional groups outside user groups. For example you may have 5 directors which are in different workgroups and you need to enforce that at any given time at least 2 of them need to be at work. To solve the problem you could create a new user group of type leave restriction that has a maximum on leave number set to 3 which means that at least 2 of your directors should always be at work.

Here’s how you can do that. Logged in as administrator, navigate to Administration/User groups and create a new LeaveRestriction user group as shown in the screenshot.

That’s it. Once created the restriction is now in place. With our test group we have also created leave requests for one employee.

Now if we want to request leave for a second employee for the same date from the leave restriction group we will get an error stating that we have reached the maximum number as specified in the restriction. The error message will look like the one below:
