Base Leave Types
LeaveWizard allows you create as many different leave types as you like. There are several different base leave types each of which provides slightly different behaviour within LeaveWizard. The following table summarizes each of the types to give you an idea of what base type you might want to choose for your own event types.
Name Description Public Holiday As the name suggests, this type is used for bank holidays but could also be used for something like a Christmas shut down period or any other time that the company may shut down and therefore is a compulsory holiday – this event type cannot be booked by employees
Allowanced Leave Requires Approval The standard type of event used for employees to book holiday, this event type requires approval Allowanced Unpaid Leave Requires Approval Use this event base type if you want to record that the employee will not be paid for the leave taken Allowanced Absence The standard type of event used for employees to book sickness or any other kind of absence that is not holiday but still has some kind of allowance associated with Non-Allowanced Absence This type can be used to record any kind of absence that does not require an allowance and therefore can be recorded any number of times Non-Allowanced Absence Requires Approval This event type can be used where an employee needs to be recorded as being absent but the absence must also be approved prior to being recorded Non-Allowanced Leave Use this event type for things like “Meeting” or any other type of event that does not require approval and does not have a related allowance but would be useful for other team members to be aware of Non-Allowanced Leave Requires Approval Use this event type for things like “Working from home” or any other type of event that does requires approval but does not have a related allowance, any number of these event types can be recorded
How do I create my own leave types?
After logging in as an Administrator, from the Dashboard click on the Administration|Event types and allowances button".This will take you to the “Event Types and Allowances” step in the setup wizard. Click the “New Event Type" button and fill in your required leave type details.
