How do you propagate and divide Narcissus bulbs?
Gardeners can easily propagate narcissus bulbs because they grow naturally underground with time. Clumps can be lifted and divided when the foliage is completely dead every couple of years, when the clumps are overcrowded. Gently break off the smaller bulbs that are growing from the parent bulb and replant them right away in prepared soil. Their depth of planting can stimulate healthy root growth and subsequent flowering. While propagation by seed can be done, it is not quick and ready to flower in as many years, as preferred methods are bulbs. Divided regularly promotes growth and results in larger and healthier displays of flowers in the spring.
